TOEI ANIMATION MUSEUM
Toei Anime Co., Ltd., the birthplace of anime, is an anime museum attached to Oizumi Studio. Valuable materials such as storyboards and cel drawings are on display, and there is a huge touch monitor where you can watch the opening and ending videos of nostalgic works.
In the courtyard is the symbolic Pero fountain, and the fountain begins to dance with music at the time signal. The blackboard corner, where you can draw your favorite picture with chalk, is also very popular with children. The museum shop also has rare items that can only be purchased here.
Sightseeing Spot in This Area
Nerima City is The birthplace of Japan’s animation. The City has many anime production-related companies. It is like ‘Nerima’ to have spot like “Oizumi Anime Gate,” located on the northern side Oizumi Gakuen Station, Seibu Ikebukuro line. There stand bronze statues of anime characters related to the City, such as Mighty Atom (Astro Boy) from "ASTRO BOY," Tetsuro-Hoshino and Maetel from "Galaxy Express 999,” Jo Yabuki from "TOMORROW'S JOE," and Lum from “Urusei Yatsura.” You can enjoy taking pictures with them. The Gate also features a “Nerima Anime Chronology,” “Graphic Wall,” etc. to let you experience Nerima, truly a City of animations.
